Van Dyk Recycling Solutions Installs Waste-to-Energy Processing Equipment for Fulcrum BioEnergy
Van Dyk Recycling Solutions is pleased to announce that it has completed the installation of waste-to-energy processing equipment and systems for Fulcrum BioEnergy, which will support the company’s innovative process which takes a bottomless resource – household garbage – and turns it into low-carbon transportation fuels such as jet fuel and diesel. Construction is nearing completion of Fulcrum’s Sierra BioFuels Plant located outside of Reno, Nevada, the nation’s first commercial-scale plant of its kind, which includes a Feedstock Processing Facility and a Biorefinery.
Fulcrum’s Feedstock Processing Facility is conveniently located adjacent to the Lockwood Landfill where it accepts municipal solid waste (MSW), or household garbage, from which it separates and recovers the organic material from the waste. The processing facility creates a feedstock that will be trucked to Fulcrum’s Biorefinery where it will undergo Fulcrum’s process of gasification and conversion into liquid fuel. The Biorefinery will convert approximately 175,000 tons of MSW into 10.5 million gallons of fuel each year.
The Fulcrum Feedstock Processing Facility has been in operation for 16 months and recently completed a facility expansion utilizing equipment and systems provided by Van Dyk Recycling Solutions to increase capacity, improve system efficiency, yield and recovered feedstock.
About Van Dyk Recycling Solutions
Van Dyk Recycling Solutions (https://vdrs.com) helps waste and recycling processors maximize their profits by supplying equipment solutions that use state-of-the-art sorting systems and balers. Van Dyk has been a MRF designer and equipment supplier since 1984. The company specializes in turnkey systems and retrofitting outdated plants with the newer, more efficient machinery needed to produce a high-quality end product from an increasingly contaminated stream. Retrofits can be as simple as adding a screen, optical, or robot, or as complex as a total modification and upgrade to an entire sort line. Designing the proper sequence of mechanical and intelligent sorting is essential to achieving an optimal flow of material throughout the MRF. This ensures a cleaner end product and more consistent plant performance. For a free evaluation on how and where your operation can be improved, call 203-967-1100 or email [email protected].
