Russia, 19th May 2025, – Global Entertainment Market (GEM)—Russia’s first open international marketplace spanning the core content industries of film, animation, game development, and music—will be held November 28–30, 2025 in Yakutsk at the multimedia historical park ”Russia – My History”.

The choice of Yakutia as the host region is strategic. It is rapidly evolving into a Eurasian creative hub: its distinctive culture sparks new content creation, while economic growth, an active business community, and robust state backing make it a logical choice for international collaborations at the crossroads of European and Asian cultures. gem 2025 will also unfold in Yakutia’s unique winter climate, giving participants the chance to experience the area’s striking natural scenery.

The event is organized by the Yakutia Development Corporation and Universal University, with support from the The Government of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) and the Creative Economy Development Center of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI).

Gem 2025 will combine three formats aimed at different audiences:

  • an international B2B market for presenting and acquiring content rights;
  • an exhibition and cross‑industry conference—including lectures, labs and master classes for young professionals;
  • public screenings of film and animation along with performances by musicians and AV artists.

The market will serve as a platform for showcasing current content, conducting negotiations, finding partners and exchanging experience among content creators and distributors, investors, producers, and federal and regional authorities interested in the industry’s growth.

In the film sector, gem 2025 will present international buyers — in addition to Yakut films — a range of new national and auteur cinema from various regions of Russia, the Asia-Pacific region, Central Asia, Europe, and other countries, as well as an ideas bank for international co-productions.

The music sector of the event will include music showcases — from ethnic music to rock, punk, and experimental electronics — as well as an exhibition of electronic (synthesizers, controllers, modular systems) and traditional musical instruments, interactive multimedia objects, and a program of master classes on packaging and promoting music content on the global market.

The game development sector of gem 2025 will include showcase zones and game shows featuring projects and teams seeking investment. These will offer opportunities to present projects to international and Russian venture funds, private investors, and publishers.

The animation program will feature both large national companies and small, authentic regional innovative studios interested in finding investment for their projects, as well as partners for potential co-production and distribution. The program includes a presentation and pitching zone, screenings of contemporary children’s and adult auteur animation, master classes, and discussions with international industry leaders.

In addition, at gem 2025, young professionals will be able to create and present their own products in film labs and game jams, attend lectures and workshops from industry stars, and expand their professional networks.

For the general public, an international program of film and animation screenings will be prepared. Musicians and artists from different genres will perform in unconventional collaborations using fresh audiovisual effects. Manufacturers and suppliers will present their latest developments at the content and AV technology exhibition.
